Obituary for Richard Alfred Caprio

Richard Alfred Caprio, 91 years of age, of Everett, formerly of East Boston, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017.

Cherished son of the late John A. and Adeline (Grasso) Caprio. Loving brother of Marie Sicuso and her late husband Joseph, Fr. Robert J. Caprio, OFM and the late John A. Caprio Jr. and his wife Frances, Lucy Caprio, Louis W. Caprio and his wife Carmella and Antonetta Altieri. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Richard was a WWII Veteran and longtime Naval Reservist that worked in the Charlestown Naval Yard.

Richard lived his life to the fullest. Throughout his 91 years, he enjoyed spending countless hours with family and friends. His favorite activities were swimming, skiing and ballroom dancing. Although he had no children, Richard treated all his nieces and nephews as if they were his own, including the family pets. He was a generous person who was dedicated to all those he loved and cherished. His presence will be greatly missed.

Family and friends will honor Richard’s life by gathering in Vazza’s “Beechwood” Funeral Home, 262 Beach St. REVERE on Sunday, November 26th from 2PM to 6PM and again at 9AM Monday morning before leaving in procession to St. Mary’s Church in Revere for a Funeral Mass to be celebrated in his honor at 10AM. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Boston, MA with Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard’s memory to the Disabled American Veterans by visiting www.DAV.org.
