Obituary for Colleen Joy Dolan

Colleen Joy Dolan, 38 years of age, of Bridgewater, formerly of Revere, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 in a tragic car accident.

She was the beloved wife of Elizabeth Ellis Mandell of Bridgewater. The cherished daughter of Richard and June (Roach) Dolan of Revere and the loving sister of Tracy Dolan of Revere, Matthew Dolan and his wife Alisha of Saugus, and Kristine Dolan of North Reading. She was the adored aunt of Jennifer Smith, Raymond Smith, David Porcaro, Ava Dolan, and the loving great-aunt of Ariana Smith.

Colleen was a graduate of Bridgewater State University where she studied Sociology and Criminal Justice and was a member of the woman’s softball team. She was also passionate about her family, outdoor adventures, her animals, and sports, and was never without a smile on her face. Colleen was a former Corrections Officer for the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department and most recently worked at the Children’s Collaborative , a program for at risk youth through the Home for Little Wanderers.

Family and friends will honor Colleen’s life by gathering at Vazza’s “Beechwood” Funeral Home, 262 Beach Street, Revere, Massachusetts on Thursday, April 6th from 2PM to 4PM and again from 6PM to 8PM and again at 8AM Friday morning before leaving in procession to St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 670 Washington Avenue in Revere for a Funeral Mass to be celebrated in her honor at 9AM.

At the family’s request in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the MSPCA-Angell, an organization that protects animals, relieves their suffering, and prevents cruelty at www.mspca.org.
